In the budget presented by CM Basavaraj Bommai, the Minister of Mysore District S T Somashekhar said that the government has emphasized the overall development of Mysuru.
Responding to the budget, he said the renovation of KR Hospital’s buildings would be carried out in the next three years at the cost of Rs 89 crore. Hostels will be opened by the Department of Women and Child Welfare for working women. In the Budget, it was announced that Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Minority Women will be given priority.
He said that 1,000 capacity multi-storied dormitory would be built under a new project called “Deenayal Upadhyaya Friendly Student Hostel” to promote higher education among Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Minorities and Other Classes.
The state government will collaborate with the central government for the implementation of the 460 km project, which has prepared a detailed project report for the construction of the long Chennai-Bangalore-Mysore high speed rail corridor.
Emphasis has been given to promoting start – ups in the district. 30 crore at the Karnataka State Open University. The Global Technology Center plug – and – play facility in Mysuru will be set up over a period of 2 years at project cost. Rs 10 crore in the current budget will be provided.
AR / VR fragments of 15 tourist destinations in the state cost Rs 15 crore. The Minister said that the Mysuru – Srirangapatna – Hassan – Belur – Halebidu Tourist Circle is intended to be developed in a public-private partnership to promote tourism.
