We cannot question the personal beliefs of the BJP and some organizations. But they should not impose it on anyone else. Don’t try to provoke public sentiment. It is wrong, said KPCC President DK. Shivakumar said.
DK Shivakumar responded to all the questions at his Sadashivanagara residence on Wednesday.
Responding to a question raised by the leaders of the World Hindu Council and BJP legislators about the issue of the Manali Mosque in Mangalore, he said, The BJP government is killing the state. Let the BJP do their own thing, on their own. We do not interfere with their personal beliefs. But it should not create unnecessary confusion in the interests of the state. They need to understand how much this will hurt the state.
BJP needs to keep emotional issues at home. There is the Ministry of Minorities in the Government, the Department of Mujahideen for Hindus. There are government officials. Thus, it is not right for organizations to interfere in the matter of government. The government should immediately take legal action against him.
The law and order problem poses such a problem. So many calls are coming to me that we will fight. This would disturb the peace and order, so I am comforted not to go into this.
We do not interfere with those who ask for fortune, those who hear omens, and those who listen to astrology. All this is a private matter, not a public issue. I condemn it for creating unnecessary confusion.
The government and the police should immediately intervene in this matter. He also said that those who predict government matters should be arrested.
Responding to a question raised by the High Court on the issue of local body elections, he said, We do not want elections. But social justice must come first. The people should be empowered as the constitution desires. Reservation and social justice should not be disturbed. It is the responsibility of the government. The court said the election would be held. But he did not say social justice was ignored.
Asked about the issue of rule violation in the goat fight, he said, ‘We have to honor the court. However, only the Congress leaders filed a case against the BJP. The minister said that no case has been filed against the government program and the birthday of BJP leaders.
On the question of curriculum revision, ‘the government is trying to bring the political agenda into the curriculum. History is twisting, creating new history for the next generation. All efforts are short-lived. It is not possible to bring national education policy in any of the states of the country. But they are trying to implement in the state. The BJP is trying to bring the ideas of its party and its leaders to the heads of children. It is a crime to misrepresent certain people as independents of the country. People will soon be punished for this wrong.
