It is ironic that the Water Board officials will not go to the empty buildings of the government building where the water bill is pending.
The Central, State Government, BBMP, Railways and Defence Departments have so far paid over Rs. The water bill has not been paid. The public has been criticized by the Water Board for displaying blindness by issuing notices to the government buildings which are pending.
The Water Board has to pay more than Rs 135 crores of water from various government buildings. However, the non-payment of water for buildings that do not pay the bill has raised doubts.
Rs 2,17,98,165 from 170 central government buildings in the city. 20,82,57,162 out of 542 buildings of State Government, 1,94,75,6800 from 497 Buildings of BBMP, 7,51,16,150 from 172 Buildings of Government Govt. And the total water bill of over Rs 135 crore, including Rs 46,73,39,864 from 163 buildings of the Police Department, has to be paid. Rs 135 crores to be paid from government buildings. The Water Board Chief Engineer Devaraj said that necessary steps have been taken to address the bill. “We have requested the chief of the police department to pay back the bill of Rs 46 crore by the end of March,” he said.
Similarly, a notice has been issued for the buildings where the billions of crores of water bill have been paid.
The question of the sensible citizenry is the question of what is the right thing for the public to save their water bills for a month and not immediately go for the water board disinvestment of government buildings which are worth crores of rupees.
