Defence minister has assured transfer of 700 acres of land in Belagavi: CM Bommai

About 700 acres of grassland in Belagavi is under the control of the Defence ministry. It actually belongs to the State government. We have appealed to transfer the land to the State government. Union Defence minister Rajnath Singh has responded positively to the request, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.

The issue was raised during the meeting with Defence minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi, Bommai said.

The State government intends to develop an IT Park in Belagavi. The State government needs this land for the IT Park. “So we have requested the Defence ministry to hand over the land. Rajnath Singh has responded positively and has stated that he would discuss the issue with concerned officials and take a decision,” Bommai said.

As for extending the term of Sangolli Rayanna Military School in Belagavi, Singh has extended the term. The Defence minister has been invited to inaugurate the school, Bommai said.
