Minister for Social and Backward Classes Welfare Kota Srinivasa Poojary said that the State Government will bear the expenses to be incurred on Padma Shri award winner Sukri Bomma Gouda, a folklore expert, who has been admitted to the KMC Hospital here for treatment.
Speaking to media persons after meeting the ailing folklore expert on Tuesday evening, the Minister, who is also in-charge of Uttara Kannada from where the artist hails, said that Chief Miniter Basavaraj Bommai has instructed him to meet the ailing Padma Shri award winner and inform her that the Government will bear her medical bills. The doctors at the hospital said that the folklore expert has been shifted from the ICU to the general ward where she is recovering.
