A new express train will chug off connecting the historical city Hyderabad.  The South-Central Railway (SCR) will restore one of the oldest trains between two historical cities.  The railway board has approved the operation of train no. 57130/29 Hyderabad-Vijayapura vice-versa Vijayapura-Hyderabad daily express train.

Along with restoring, the SCR also upgraded this train from a daily passenger to an express.  This will reduce the journey by two hours.  This will also ply through three states Maharashtra, Karnataka and Telangana.

According to SCR, “The Hyderabad-Bijapur express train will depart Hyderabad at 9.10 pm and will arrive at Vijayapura at 8.10 am and the same will depart Vijayapura at 8.05 pm and reaches Hyderabad at 8.20 am.  This train comprises of general, sleeper and air-condition compartments.”

This train service was discontinued after the outbreak of corona virus in 2020.  However, the railway authorities restored the train services, that were withdrawn in phases.  The SCR and South Western Railways have introduced maximum trains from Vijayapura in the last one and half years.

Ashok Hallur, Chairman of the Railway Action Committee, pointed out, “With the introduction of this train it will provide a safe and economical journey for the people of this region.  It is one of the oldest trains, where  it was introduced in the early 1990s, operating from Vijayapura.”

“It is also appreciative that the railway board has upgraded it to express from passenger service.  This will reduce the travel time by two hours.  It will also connect Solapur and Gulbarga cities.  The railway authorities should restore all the trains from Vijayapura,” urged Hallur.
