BEML, a state-owned company, announced on Thursday that it has received a Rs 246.78 crore order from Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL) for supplying rear dump trucks. These trucks are vital for mining operations.
As part of the deal, BEML will deliver 48 BH60M rear dump trucks, along with spare parts and after-sales service support. The trucks have been designed and developed by BEML with advanced features to enhance safety and efficiency. Some of the key features include a 360-degree rear camera for better visibility, an automatic fire suppression system for emergencies, and an auto-lube system to ensure smooth maintenance.
BEML’s Chairman and Managing Director, Shantanu Roy, highlighted that this partnership helps the company contribute to India’s growth. He emphasized BEML’s commitment to supporting vital industries like mining with sustainable and innovative technologies, aligning with India’s vision of self-reliance and industrial leadership.
BEML operates under the Ministry of Defence and works in three main areas: construction and mining, rail and metro, and defence and aerospace. Central Coalfields Ltd, based in Jharkhand, operates 38 mines, including both underground and open-pit mines, and is a key player in India’s coal mining sector.
