New Delhi
Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, AAP Convener and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday emphasized the improvements in Delhi’s government schools. He proudly stated that students from underprivileged backgrounds are now clearing competitive exams like NEET and IIT-JEE.
Speaking on National Education Day, in honor of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first Education Minister, Kejriwal remarked, We have proven in Delhi that a government can build world-class schools. He further added on social media that students are now leaving private schools to join Delhi’s government schools.
Kejriwal shared his interactions with parents, noting their satisfaction and trust in the government schools’ transformation. He encouraged parents to visit the city’s top schools to see the improvements firsthand.
However, Kejriwal warned that while significant progress has been made, there is still much work to do. He compared the achievements to a sapling, urging that it should be nurtured to avoid harm to the future of children.
Kejriwal stressed that the AAP’s goal is not power, but to ensure continuity in the reforms related to education, healthcare, and essential services. He expressed hope that these initiatives remain in place, regardless of the election outcome. With elections likely in February, AAP aims for a third consecutive win, while BJP and Congress seek to return to power.
