Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, lauded EEPC India’s ambitious target to reach USD 300 billion in engineering exports by 2030, Speaking at the launch of EEPC India’s 70th anniversary celebrations in New Delhi on Thursday, calling it a bold representation of the “courage and conviction of New India.”
Goyal emphasized the critical role of the engineering sector in India’s vision of becoming a developed nation (Viksit Bharat). He highlighted the government’s efforts to streamline regulations, improve business conditions, and support sustainable manufacturing practices. He also encouraged the sector to align with Prime Minister Modi’s “Zero Defect, Zero Effect” mantra, emphasizing quality and environmental responsibility.
EEPC India’s goal was praised as a testament to the country’s determination. Goyal acknowledged the council’s contributions to mobility, capital goods, and steel sectors, noting its pivotal role in strengthening India’s engineering capabilities.
Minister of State for Commerce, Jitin Prasada, and EEPC India Chairman Arun Kumar Garodia also spoke, recognizing the council’s efforts in expanding India’s global engineering exports. Garodia reflected on the organization’s journey from 40 members in 1955 to over 9,500 today, underscoring EEPC India’s key role in supporting India’s manufacturing and export sectors across various industries.
