This mythological thriller was originally offered to Ranveer Singh, who was set to make his Telugu film debut. After the success of Varma’s recent film HanuMan, he is said to have reached out to Prabhas, who is interested but is waiting to see the response to Varma’s next release, Jai Hanuman, before making a final decision.
Brahmarakshas revolves around a mythical creature from Indian folklore, which adds an intriguing twist to the narrative. While Prabhas has shown enthusiasm for the project, he hasn’t yet confirmed his participation, leaving the film in a tentative state. There have also been discussions about the film’s title, with some creative differences arising regarding whether to call it Rakshas or stick with Brahmarakshas.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh has been preparing for his role, which included an elaborate look test, showcasing a more extravagant approach compared to the typical South Indian film industry culture. Prabhas, having achieved great success with films like Baahubali, Salaar, and Kalki 2898 AD, remains a highly sought-after actor in the industry. His decision will depend significantly on the reception of Jai Hanuman.
