Khost
Security forces in Afghanistan have confiscated a substantial cache of weapons and ammunition in the eastern province of Khost, according to a statement from the provincial police office on Sunday.
The seized contraband includes various military items, such as Kalashnikov rifles, rocket launchers, PK machine guns, grenades, and a significant quantity of ammunition. The confiscation occurred during a series of operations throughout the province, although the statement did not specify the exact timing of these discoveries.
Authorities arrested six individuals on charges related to the possession of illegal weapons and military equipment. Since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in August 2021, the caretaker government has undertaken initiatives to stabilize the security landscape by seizing thousands of arms and substantial amounts of ammunition across the country.
