The rivalry between Ajit Pawar and his uncle, Sharad Pawar, intensified after Sharad mimicked Ajitās emotional speech. Ajit, the Deputy Chief Minister, expressed disappointment, saying it was inappropriate for Sharad to mock him, especially since he was recalling his mother. Ajit stated, Iāve always looked up to Sharad Pawar as a mentor, but imitating my tears was uncalled for. It would have been acceptable if someone else, like Yogendra Pawar, did it. He added, I didnāt expect such behavior from him. It really upset me.
As the political climate heats up, tensions between the two are expected to increase, especially with the NCP(SP) fielding Sharad’s grandson, Yogendra, against Ajit in Baramati. Ajitās supporters believe he can secure a victory in the upcoming Assembly elections, despite the significant lead that Supriya Sule had in the last Lok Sabha elections. However, they acknowledge that Ajit must convince voters, particularly the youth, to support him after his controversial alliance with the BJP and Shiv Sena.
Ajit has announced plans to campaign across Maharashtra for his partyās candidates rather than just focusing on Baramati. He will be in Baramati for Diwali celebrations from November 1 to 3 before continuing his campaign statewide.
