Balochistan

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) organized a protest in Yakmach City on Wednesday to highlight ongoing enforced disappearances by the Pakistani armed forces. The rally began at a local high school and moved towards CPEC Road, drawing a large crowd of supporters from the community.

The BYC shared on social media that the protest aimed to fight against the oppression of the Baloch people and the systematic disappearances affecting their community. The rally showed strong unity among the participants, as many residents joined in solidarity.

A similar protest occurred the day before in Dalbandin, where activists demanded the immediate release of those who have gone missing. During both events, internet services were disrupted, and reports indicated that the military responded with violence to control the demonstrations.

Despite these challenges, the BYC remains committed to its mission. They declared, “Even with the hurdles created by the state, we will continue to stand against oppression and expose state atrocities.”

Baloch activist Mahrang Baloch called for people to join the protests against enforced disappearances, which has created a fearful atmosphere in the region. The BYC’s campaign is themed “Breaking the Silence: Standing Against Enforced Disappearances,” emphasizing the community’s determination to confront these issues together.
