70% of business leaders in India plan to prioritize the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in 2025, reflecting the growing influence of AI and Generative AI in the workplace, according to a report on Wednesday.
The report highlights an accelerating workplace transformation, noting that 10% of globally hired workers in 2024 hold job titles that did not exist in 2000. Emerging roles such as sustainability manager, AI engineer, data scientist, social media manager, and customer success manager have become commonplace.
Moreover, 82% of Indian leaders agree that the pace of change in the workplace is intensifying. The advantages of adopting AI extend beyond enhanced productivity; employees skilled in Generative AI are 20 times more likely to develop essential soft skills, including professional networking, personal branding, and design thinking, creativity, and emotional intelligence— qualities crucial for success in today’s competitive environment.
“AI is transforming the workplace like never before. While nearly 82% of professionals in India are feeling the impact of rapid change, it’s encouraging to see more companies committed to navigating this shift. As we look to 2025, businesses are increasingly prioritizing AI adoption, alongside meaningful investments in upskilling and reskilling their workforce,” said Ruchee Anand, India Head of LinkedIn Talent Solutions.
The report also reveals that 69% of HR professionals in India report unprecedented expectations in their roles. Additionally, 60% acknowledge that experience alone is insufficient to remain competitive, with over half indicating that career advancement now depends on embracing AI technologies.
