Ganesh Prabhu, a senior techie at a global IT firm, has authored two books—Artificial Intelligence for All and Generative AI for All—to make AI concepts accessible to children. His goal is to simplify AI learning for young students, providing free copies to schools.
Prabhu’s inspiration came from his own struggle to find suitable AI content for his son. He found existing materials too complex for kids, which motivated him to create these resources. Remarkably, he completed both books within a month, despite not being an avid reader himself.
The 37-page Artificial Intelligence for All introduces basic AI concepts in an easy-to-understand format. It covers topics such as types of AI, applications in various fields, and robotic process automation. Prabhu, along with Banashankari and Geetha Kamath, has distributed copies to around 50 schools in Bengaluru, Mangaluru, and Karkala. The e-book is available for free download via a QR code, allowing schools to print it or add it to their libraries. Dr. Niranjan Chiplunkar, principal of NMAMIT, Nitte, has reviewed and endorsed it.
The 40-page Generative AI for All delves into generative AI fundamentals, including prompt engineering and real-world applications. Prabhu ensures relevance by including reviews from students and IT professionals. He plans to regularly update the e-book and aims to reach more schools, including government institutions. With no copyright restrictions, he sees this project purely as a passion for educating children and is seeking volunteers to translate it into various languages, including Kannada.
