Hubli-Dharwad Police Commissioner N Shashikumar said that check posts were installed at 14 separate places in the southern sub-division   and 264 vehicles without proper documents were seized.  

After inspecting the seized vehicles, he said, operation was conducted in the area of ​​5 police stations of South Sub-Division of Hubli-Dharwad Metropolitan Commissionerate. Vehicles were seized in the area of ​​Hubballi Town, Ghantikeri, Kasabapet, Old Hubli, Bendigeri Police Stations. Excessive speeding, violation of traffic rules, this action has been taken in the wake of complaints from the public about drinking alcohol in places, he said.

The first phase of the operation was done, I request the public to keep proper records. They are allowed to show the documents even from the DG locker. The operation has been done keeping in mind the safety of women and students. We have already done area domination. This operation will be at the sub-division stage. All the inspector along with ACP is running a check post operation, he said.

This operation will continue. Do not give vehicles to minor children. The public should take precautionary measures. We are conducting the operation step by step. We have already seized three autos, he said.
