Belagavi
Union Minister of State Shobha Karandlaje emphasized the urgent need for industrial growth in India’s Tier II and III cities, warning that Bengaluru risks becoming as polluted as Delhi if industry expansion is not redirected. She highlighted Belagavi as Karnataka’s second-largest industrial exporter after Bengaluru and urged industrialists to consider Belagavi’s potential as a future industrial hub.
Karandlaje also encouraged investment in food processing, noting its promising future. She pointed out that while India exports food items that pass stringent pesticide checks, local consumers often eat untested food. The Minister called for district-level testing labs to ensure food safety.
