A soldier who was injured in a terrorist attack on an Army vehicle in the Botapathri area of Gulmarg, J&K, has died in the hospital, raising the death toll to five. The attack occurred on Thursday when militants targeted a Rashtriya Rifles vehicle in Nagin Chowk. In response to the rising violence, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha held a meeting to assess the security situation in the region, involving senior officials from various security agencies. He emphasized the need for a strong response to the attackers and offered condolences to the victims’ families.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also condemned the attack, expressing concern over the recent surge in violence in Kashmir. He extended his sympathies to the families affected and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
