New Delhi

National Fertilisers Ltd (NFL), India’s largest state-owned urea manufacturer, is set to expand its green portfolio with a new Rs 208 crore water-soluble fertiliser and micronutrients plant in Madhya Pradesh. The company’s board has approved the construction of this facility as part of its growth strategy on Friday.

NFL has also announced the closure of its nano urea facility in Nangal, Punjab. This decision was revealed in a recent regulatory filing, marking a move towards enhancing its focus on water-soluble fertilisers.

NFL currently operates five gas-based ammonia-urea manufacturing units across Punjab, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh. The company offers a diverse range of agricultural products, including urea, bio-fertilisers, industrial chemicals, certified seeds, and agrochemicals.

The establishment of the new plant is expected to strengthen NFL’s position in the market and contribute to sustainable agricultural practices in the region.
