School girl killed in road accident

An 11-year-old girl tragically lost her life in an accident involving an auto-rickshaw carrying schoolchildren and a pickup truck at Kallapade, Belma village, on Thursday. The girl, identified as Ayisha Wahiba, was the daughter of Mohammed B Monu and Munshia from Badakabailu.

The auto-rickshaw was transporting children from Madaka to Netaji School in Deralakatte when it was struck by a speeding pickup truck. Ayisha sustained serious injuries and died while being taken to the hospital. Four other students in the rickshaw suffered minor injuries, along with the auto-rickshaw driver. All injured individuals were admitted to KS Hegde Hospital in Deralakatte.

Mangaluru South Traffic Police have registered a case regarding the incident. In memory of Ayisha, the Deralakatte Netaji Subhashchandra Bose Government Higher Primary School declared a holiday.
