Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya is set to launch the ‘eShram-One Stop Solution’ today, aimed at providing unorganised workers easy access to various social sector schemes. This initiative aligns with the recent budget announcement to enhance the eShram platform, ensuring it serves as a comprehensive resource for unorganised labour.
According to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, the eShram-One Stop Solution will act as a mediator, helping unorganised workers navigate government schemes and programs designed for their benefit. The ministry stated on Sunday, ‘The eShram-One Stop Solution seeks to effectively integrate information about beneficiaries of all social security and welfare schemes meant for unorganised workers through a single platform.’
The initiative aims to streamline the identification and implementation of social security and welfare programs, ensuring they reach the intended beneficiaries efficiently. Currently, 12 schemes from various central ministries and departments have been integrated with eShram.
Since its launch on August 26, 2021, eShram has seen over 30 crore unorganised workers enroll, indicating its success and the government’s commitment to supporting this vital segment of the workforce.
