As Omar Abdullah of the National Conference takes on the role of Chief Minister in Jammu and Kashmir, Sanjay Nishad, a Cabinet Minister in Uttar Pradesh and the leader of the Nishad Party, expressed concerns about separatist leaders uniting to create more problems in the region. In a conversation with source, Nishad emphasized that it is ultimately up to the people of J&K to decide whether they want to support parties focused on farmers and youth or those that promote division based on religion and status.
He predicted that with Abdullah’s leadership, questions about the reimplementation of Article 370 will arise, potentially worsening the situation in the Union Territory. Nishad also expressed gratitude to the Election Commission of India (ECI) for announcing by-election dates, noting that his party was prepared to contest ten Assembly seats, although only nine were announced.
Confident in the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) prospects, he stated, Last time, we had some success, but this time we aim for a historic victory in Uttar Pradesh, similar to our win in Haryana. He attributed past successes to effective campaigning along the borders and reaffirmed his party’s commitment to addressing the needs of the poor, OBCs, women, and youth. Nishad concluded by highlighting the NDA’s promise of jobs, respect, peace, and prosperity for the people of Uttar Pradesh. The ECI has scheduled the by-polls for November 13.
