This year’s Dasara festival has been marked as a cultural movement, showcasing the richness of music, literature, art, agriculture, sports, and community values, said Social Welfare and Mysuru District In-charge Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa. He emphasized the celebration’s focus on unity, harmony, and cultural pride.
Speaking at an award ceremony for the ‘Dussehra Fruit and Flower Show’ at Kuppanna Park, where winners for the best garden designs were recognized, the minister highlighted the Chief Minister’s directive to celebrate Dasara with grandeur, following good rainfall in the state. He stated that the festival aimed to promote a spirit of brotherhood and dignity, transcending religious and caste divisions.
Dr. Mahadevappa noted that this year’s Dasara has been widely appreciated for its unique approach, drawing large crowds and becoming a true ‘people’s festival.’ He credited the residents of Mysuru for the event’s success, calling it a cultural crown for the state.
