Prez Murmu urges students to balance ambition with social awareness

On Thursday, President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the transformative power of education, urging students to find a balance between their personal goals and social awareness. Speaking at the 32nd convocation of Mohanlal Sukhadia University in Udaipur, she highlighted that true success comes from benefiting others. She praised the university for empowering numerous students who have made significant contributions in various fields, including Punjab Governor Gulabchand Kataria.

The President called on the students to contribute to the vision of a Developed India by 2047, emphasizing that their efforts are vital for achieving this goal. She acknowledged the historical significance of the Mewar and Udaipur regions in India’s freedom struggle and national identity, recalling the contributions of figures like Rana Sanga and Maharana Pratap.

President Murmu noted that the university serves over 100,000 students, including many from tribal backgrounds, who have enhanced the nation’s pride. She encouraged students to learn about influential figures and highlighted Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s belief in the importance of character over mere education.

At the ceremony, 102 gold medals were awarded to 85 students, including eight Chancellor medals. The President praised the achievements of female students and remarked on the importance of their success across various fields. Following this event, she will participate in a global summit on spirituality and a Rajasthan government ceremony at Mangarh Dham.
