Must read

Bengaluru’s Yelahanka airbase will host the five-day Aero India 2025 event from February 10 to 14, continuing its tradition of hosting this prestigious air show since 1998. The event, organized by India’s armed forces and various agencies under the Ministry of Defence, will feature participation from key players such as the Indian Air Force (IAF), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), and other major aviation bodies. Aero India 2025 is expected to showcase aerial performances by IAF’s Sukhoi jets, the Suryakiran aerobatic team, and the Sarang helicopter team. In previous editions, top aviation companies from the US, France, Israel, and Russia, including giants like Boeing, Airbus, and Dassault Aviation, participated. The 2023 edition saw a historic moment when the United States Air Force’s Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II performed an aerial display for the first time in India. This year’s edition will also see public sector giants like HAL and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) pushing for international deals. HAL, which produces Tejas fighter jets, aims to secure contracts with countries in the Middle East, South America, and Southeast Asia. The event is expected to solidify India’s defense export ambitions, with Rajnath Singh highlighting that India now exports military hardware to over 90 countries. Aero India 2025 is expected to attract even more global interest as India continues to expand its defense manufacturing capabilities. With the government focusing on indigenization, the event serves as a platform to highlight India’s growing expertise in producing advanced military hardware.
