New Delhi
In response to concerns raised by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) about the worsening law and order in Delhi, BJP spokesperson R.P. Singh urged CM Arvind Kejriwal to focus on problems in Punjab first. Singh said, the gangsters involved in the recent shooting in Delhi have been arrested. Kejriwal should pay attention to Punjab, where extortion is widespread and gangsters are openly threatening people. Shopkeepers are leaving Punjab because of this crisis.
This statement followed AAP Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj’s comments on Sunday, where he highlighted the atmosphere of panic in Delhi. Bharadwaj criticized Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena’s response to the rising crime in the city and announced that AAP leaders, including himself and MLA Durgesh Pathak, would meet the LG to demand urgent measures to improve the law and order situation.
Bharadwaj stated, there is a climate of fear in Delhi today. We have never experienced such a situation before. Former Chief Minister Kejriwal echoed these sentiments on social media, claiming, Law and order has collapsed in Delhi. People feel unsafe in the capital.
In response, Singh pointed out the Delhi government’s failures in infrastructure, saying, the government has failed in providing electricity, maintaining roads, and ensuring water supply. Poor infrastructure has led to tragic incidents, like the recent deaths of three children during the rains. The people of Delhi will hold AAP accountable for its failures.
