On Monday, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy announced the results of the District Selection Committee (DSC) 2024 and confirmed that appointment orders for new teachers will be issued before Dasara. At an event with his Cabinet and education department officials, he released the General Rank List and stated that certificate verification will be completed by Dasara, with appointment orders set for October 9 at LB Stadium in Hyderabad.
Approximately 2.45 lakh candidates took the DSC exam for 11,062 teaching positions from July to August, with 87.61% participating. The largest group, around 88,000 candidates, applied for 6,508 secondary grade teacher roles. Reddy criticized the previous BRS government for issuing the DSC notification only once in ten years, resulting in just 7,857 appointments.
He emphasized the Congress government’s commitment to education and started the appointment process quickly after taking office, filling all 11,062 positions within 65 days and issuing letters to 30,000 employees in 30 days. The Chief Minister also promised to announce Group-I exam results soon and fill over 60,000 vacancies in the first year to combat unemployment.
