Continuous rainfall has caused severe flooding in Nepal, resulting in at least 39 deaths and 11 people being reported missing. The capital, Kathmandu, along with surrounding areas such as Lalitpur and Bhaktapur, has been heavily affected by the flooding. Authorities have deployed around 3,000 security personnel to assist in rescue efforts. Warnings have been issued about the possibility of flash floods due to the ongoing rain.

Among the casualties, nine deaths occurred in Kathmandu, 16 in Lalitpur, and five in Bhaktapur. Additionally, three people died in Kavrepalanchowk, two each in Panchthar and Dhankuta, and one each in Jhapa and Dhading. The Nepal Police reported that 226 houses were submerged in Kathmandu alone. Rescue teams are working in collaboration with local agencies and residents to locate the missing individuals and provide relief to those affected.

The heavy rainfall, which began on Friday, prompted disaster management authorities to issue warnings about further flooding risks in the country. Efforts to mitigate the impact of the floods and find those still missing are ongoing.
