On Friday, Congress criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for its upcoming ‘Janata Ki Adalat’ program at Jantar Mantar, suggesting it reflects a decade of failed public engagement. Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit questioned what Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has achieved during his long tenure. He pointed out that despite having elected officials like MLAs and a mayor, AAP has not successfully connected with the citizens of Delhi.
Dikshit emphasized that the event seems more like a political stunt ahead of elections rather than a genuine effort to listen to the public. He described AAP’s approach as superficial, using terms like ‘Janata Ki Adalat’ to mask their lack of real engagement with community concerns. He argued that the government should focus on fulfilling its responsibilities rather than seeking approval through elaborate events.
According to Dikshit, the AAP’s free schemes, which were initially well-received, are now losing their appeal as the public sees through the party’s motives. He noted that Kejriwal’s statement about returning to the Chief Minister’s position only with public endorsement shows a disconnect from the electorate’s needs and emotions. Overall, Congress believes that AAP is out of touch and unable to effectively represent the interests of the people.
