Rapper and singer-songwriter Nicki Minaj has announced the cancellation of the deluxe edition of her album Pink Friday 2 and the release of a new album, Pink Friday 3. Minaj revealed her decision on X, explaining that instead of a deluxe version, she will release a completely new album, incorporating some tracks from Pink Friday 2 and adding new material.
Minaj stated, ‘The new music is just too good to be thrown away on a deluxe album.’ She expressed excitement about the new project and assured fans that they will receive new content before the album’s official announcement.
She explained that Pink Friday 2, her first album after becoming a mother, holds special significance and that she wanted to preserve its integrity. ‘I put every song on there in a specific order, so adding a large number of new tracks now feels a bit sloppy,’ she said.
Minaj’s new album, Pink Friday 3, is set to be a continuation of her successful era. She also mentioned upcoming performances, including stops in Birmingham and Dallas. Pink Friday 2, her fifth studio album, was released on December 8, 2023.
