Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach partnered with Urzza Charge Tech to enhance electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure across Andhra Pradesh. The collaboration aims to provide user-friendly EV charging solutions and support the transition to a greener future. The partnership will establish charging stations at key locations, starting with Visakhapatnam.
To inaugurate this initiative, an EV charging station was opened at INOX Vizag by MP M Sribharat. The event included a session on the EV landscape attended by EV manufacturers and users. Sushil Reddy, who holds two Guinness World Records for the longest electric bicycle journey, also participated. Reddy is currently on a 60-day, 8,000 km journey across southern India to raise awareness about sustainable mobility.
During the event, a panel discussed challenges in the EV ecosystem, such as range anxiety, supply chain issues, and cost. Industry experts provided solutions, highlighting the possibility of “battery as a service” in the future. They emphasized that even without renewable energy, EVs are more efficient than traditional internal combustion engine vehicles.
Urzza Charge Tech plans to expand its services across India. The company’s co-founder noted that EVs are not limited to cities and can be used for long drives as well. Several industry leaders and sustainability advocates attended the event.
