Tarang Shakti showcases the Indian Armed Forces’ growing prominence

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the ‘Tarang Shakti’ Multinational Exercise on Thursday, highlighting its role in enhancing cooperation, coordination, and trust among partner nations. Speaking at the Distinguished Visitors’ Day event in Jodhpur, Singh emphasized that this exercise reinforces India’s defense ties and demonstrates collective readiness for future challenges.

Singh described the exercise as a learning opportunity where soldiers from diverse backgrounds share knowledge about different combat techniques and principles. He noted that the event also celebrates the Indian Air Force’s achievements and growing global recognition.

The Defence Minister reflected on the significant advancements of the Indian Air Force, from having just six squadrons at independence to now possessing some of the world’s most modern aircraft and equipment. He highlighted recent collaborations, such as Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’s partnership with French company Safran Helicopter Engines, marking India’s transition from an arms importer to an exporter.

Singh also pointed out the strides in domestic defense manufacturing, including Light Combat Aircraft and advanced sensors. The event featured performances by the Agniveervayu Women Air Warrior Drill Team and demonstrations from various aircraft teams.

Additionally, Singh inaugurated the International Defence and Aerospace Expo (IDAX-24), showcasing India’s commitment to indigenous defense technology and international collaboration. The expo attracted industry leaders and participants from seven nations, underlining India’s growing prominence in the global defense sector.
