The Konkani Catholic Lawyers’ Guild and the Lay Faithful Commission of the Diocese of Mangalore held a felicitation program for Anil John Sequeira, recently appointed as a judicial officer by the High Court of Karnataka. The event took place on September 6 at Sambhram Hall, St. Anthony’s Ashram, Jeppu.
The program began with a prayer song performed by Sr. Lynet and her team. Santhosh Peter D’Souza, President of the Konkani Catholic Lawyers’ Guild, welcomed the attendees. Anil John Sequeira was introduced by advocate Deepak D’Souza.
Sequeira was honored by the office bearers of both the Konkani Catholic Lawyers’ Guild and the Lay Faithful Commission. Senior advocates M.P. Noronha and Tony Fernandes participated in the felicitation, while Fr. J.B. Crasta, Secretary of the Lay Faithful Commission, offered blessings to Sequeira. M.P. Noronha conveyed his best wishes on behalf of the Guild.
In his acceptance speech, Sequeira encouraged young people to pursue their goals with determination despite obstacles, and expressed gratitude to his mentors and supporters. Reshma D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks, and Lolina Lobo compered the event, which concluded with the national anthem.
The event was attended by Guild President Santhosh Peter D’Souza, Vice President Aloysius Lobo, Treasurer Roshan D’Souza, Fr. J.B. Crasta, community leaders, advocates, and law students.
