LoP: People of city do not have faith in govt on 6 major issues

Must read

Leader of the Opposition R. Ashok has expressed significant mistrust in the Siddaramaiah government, citing six key issues. Ashok criticized the government’s handling of various problems, calling it a ‘project of faith by the mistrust government.’

Ashok remarked that the recent ‘Nambike Nakshe’ scheme, which aims to simplify building map approvals in the city, is just another part of the ongoing ‘Brand Bangalore drama.’ According to the scheme, residents can proceed with construction and renovation on plots of 50/80 square feet without issues. However, Ashok dismissed this initiative as inadequate.

Ashok listed six areas where he believes the public has lost faith in the government:

  • Water supply reliability
  • Road repair and pothole coverage
  • Effectiveness of door-to-door administration
  • Law and order
  • Government promises
  • Corruption-free governance

He described the announcement of the new scheme as a contradiction, reflecting the government’s lack of trustworthiness. Ashok also pointed out that 2,795 potholes have been identified in the BBMP zone, with a promise from Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to address them within 15 days at a cost of ₹660 crores.

Additionally, Ashok welcomed the government’s decision to review the KPSC Gazetted Probationary posts, viewing it as a positive step for job aspirants and a victory for opposition efforts.
