Fans of ‘Friends’ now have the chance to own a piece of Matthew Perry’s iconic wardrobe as Chandler Bing, but only if they’re willing to pay the price.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of ‘Friends,’ Warner Bros. Television and Julien’s Auctions are hosting a live auction on September 23, offering various items from the show’s set. The auction, titled ‘The One with the 30-Year Anniversary Auction,’ will also be available online.
One of the standout items is a blue-grey sweater worn by Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing in the seventh season episode ‘The One with the Holiday Armadillo.’ The sweater, made by Autumn Cashmere, was featured in scenes at Central Perk, including a memorable moment where Monica tells Chandler she won’t change her last name to Bing. The sweater comes with a costume tag and a certificate of authenticity. Bidding for the sweater began at $250 and has already reached $1,500.
Other ‘Friends’ memorabilia up for auction includes a grey mohair turtleneck worn by Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Green, currently at $4,000, and a blue denim coat worn by Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe Buffay, which has reached $2,250. A replica of the iconic Central Perk couch has also drawn bids up to $6,000.
The auction comes nearly a year after Matthew Perry’s tragic death in October 2023 and honors the show’s enduring legacy, giving fans a unique chance to own a piece of television history.
