After celebrating his wife Shibani Akhtar’s birthday, filmmaker and actor Farhan Akhtar has headed to Ladakh for his next film. On social media, he shared, Back in Ladakh after Lakshya and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag to shoot a very special film. Fans quickly speculated whether this new project might be Don 3 or Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2.
However, ETimes has learned that Farhan is in Ladakh for an acting role, marking his return to acting after a three-year hiatus. His last film was Toofan, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Sources reveal that Farhan’s new project is directed by Razneesh Ghai, known for Dhaakad starring Kangana Ranaut and Arjun Rampal.
This upcoming film is reportedly based on the 1962 Battle of Rezang La, a significant event in the Indo-China War. Farhan will portray Major Shaitan Singh, who led 120 Indian soldiers of Charlie Company 13 Kumaon against approximately 5,000 Chinese troops. Despite heavy casualties, the Indian soldiers’ bravery prevented the Chinese PLA from advancing into the Chushul Valley. The battle’s location saw renewed tensions during the 2020 standoff between India and China.
Razneesh Ghai, who has a family background in the military, has been passionate about this project for some time.
