Jai Inder Kaur, President of BJP Punjab Mahila Morcha, led a large protest against the Punjab government, joined by hundreds of activists on Tuesday. They voiced concerns about rising crime rates and deteriorating law and order. Kaur highlighted the surge in murders, daytime attacks, and crimes against women, which she said have shaken public trust in the government’s ability to maintain safety. The protest was sparked by a recent shooting in Amritsar. Kaur criticized Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for prioritizing campaigns in Haryana over Punjab’s safety issues.
After the protest, a memorandum was submitted to Sub-Divisional Magistrate Khushpreet Kaur, demanding immediate action to restore public safety. Kaur warned of more protests if the government does not act.
