In a heartbreaking event on Monday morning, four teenage brothers drowned in the Gandak River in Jadavpur village, Gopalganj, Bihar. The tragedy struck around 7:30 a.m. as the boys, identified as Nikhil Kumar (16), Sujit Kumar (16), Sanjiv Kumar (14), and Sumit Kumar (14), went for a bath. According to Circle Officer Gautam Kumar Singh, one boy started to drown and the others tried to help but were pulled under by the strong currents.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been deployed for a rescue operation, but as of now, the boys remain missing. The river’s rising water level, exacerbated by heavy rainfall in Nepal, has made the search more difficult. The river at Dumaria Ghat is currently 64 cm above the danger mark. Despite previous warnings about the river’s dangerous conditions, the tragedy occurred, deeply shocking the local community.
