DPL T20: East Delhi Riders breeze past Central Delhi Kings by 10 wickets in rain-affected game

In a rain-affected Delhi Premier League T20 game at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, the East Delhi Riders secured a commanding 10-wicket victory over the Central Delhi Kings in a 10-over match.

East Delhi’s bowlers dominated as Himanshu Chauhan took 3 wickets for 15 runs and Simarjeet Singh claimed 2 for 8, dismissing Central Delhi Kings for just 61 runs in 8.1 overs. In response, East Delhi Riders chased down the modest target effortlessly in only 4.1 overs.

Openers Himmat Singh and Anuj Rawat played rapid unbeaten innings of 31 and 25 runs, respectively, finishing the match in just 25 balls. They scored 49 runs during the 3-over powerplay and secured the win with 35 balls to spare.

The Central Delhi Kings struggled from the start after a rain delay. They lost Dipesh Balyan for 2 runs in the first over and captain Yash Dhull for 13 runs in the third over, ending the powerplay at 28/2. Chauhan took Dhull’s wicket in his first over and went on to dismiss Hiten Dalal and Lakshay Thareja. Rounak Waghela then removed Jonty Sidhu and Sumit Kumar in quick succession.

The East Delhi Riders continued their bowling onslaught, dismissing the Central Delhi Kings for just 61. Keshav Dabas was run out, and Simarjeet Singh took two more wickets before Harsh Tyagi wrapped up the innings with an lbw dismissal.
