A nine-foot King Cobra entered a bedroom in Someshwara village near Hebri, likely seeking warmth due to heavy rains. The highly venomous snake was discovered coiled inside a box in the bedroom.
A household member, noticing the snake’s tail protruding from the box, saw the snake hissing when approached. The person quickly called for help from the Agumbe Rainforest Research Station (ARRS), located about 10 km away. Rescuers arrived to find the King Cobra resting in the box.
The snake was safely captured and transported to the Agumbe forest, where it was released. The rescuer suspected the King Cobra had entered the house via a tree branch that reached a window, seeking a dry and warm place amid the rain.
