Five members of a family, including a woman constable, were found dead in Bhagalpur, Bihar, officials reported on Tuesday. The bodies were discovered in police quarters and included Constable Neetu Kumari, her husband Pankaj Kumar, their two children, and Pankaj’s mother.

According to Bhagalpur DIG Vivekanand, the incident likely resulted from a family dispute. The tragedy is believed to have occurred on Monday night, with the district police becoming aware on Tuesday morning. A suicide note, allegedly written by Pankaj Kumar, was found at the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest that Pankaj may have killed his wife, mother, and children before taking his own life.

Neetu Kumari had been serving as a constable since 2015 and lived in the police quarters with her family. Reports indicate that marital issues between the couple, exacerbated by Pankaj’s suspicions of an extramarital affair, may have led to the tragedy. The victims were originally from Buxar district, and the remaining family members have been notified.
