Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav has urged Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, to expedite several infrastructure projects in Uttar Pradesh. In a recent letter, Yadav called for the swift completion of the 408.77-kilometer Chambal Expressway connecting Etawah in Uttar Pradesh to Kota in Rajasthan. He also requested the rapid development of a six-lane highway from Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh to Lipulekh.

Additionally, Yadav emphasized the need to extend the Bundelkhand Expressway to Satna and to link the expressway from Etawah to Haridwar in Uttarakhand. He further asked for the Purvanchal Expressway to be extended by 25 kilometers to reach Buxar-Bhagalpur in Bihar.

Separately, Yadav voiced his concerns about the violence in Bangladesh, calling for international intervention to protect all communities from harm. He stated, No community, whether majority or minority, should suffer violence. The Indian government must address this issue globally as part of human rights and national security. His comments come amid ongoing unrest in Bangladesh following Sheikh Hasina’s resignation on August 5, which has led to a surge of refugees, including many Bangladeshi Hindus, into India.
