Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has instructed department officials to monitor all dengue-infected individuals for 14 days. During a visit to dengue hotspots in Yalahanka on Friday, the Minister emphasized the increased focus on dengue control in the city. He participated in an Aedes mosquito larvae eradication program at Shingenahalli, Yalahanka, and visited local schools to raise awareness about dengue.

The Minister informed the media that continuous efforts are being made by the health department to control dengue and that a decline in cases is anticipated next month. While dengue cases have decreased in some districts, Bangalore still accounts for 50 percent of the total cases in the state. The Minister has advised the BBMP and Health Department officials to intensify their efforts in the city.

Deputy director-level officers will be sent to dengue hotspots in 10 districts. They will visit these areas on Monday and Tuesday to ensure proper implementation of dengue control measures. Dengue hotspots are identified when more than two positive cases are reported. If additional cases are found, fever clinics will be opened, and individuals showing symptoms will be tested for dengue.
