In NR Pura taluk near Salur village, the Bhadra river divided into two parts, trapping over 30 cattle on an island-like area where they had gone to graze. Local residents and staff from the Bhadra Tiger Reserve swiftly responded to the sudden rise in river flow caused by heavy rains in the Western Ghats. They used a boat to rescue the stranded cattle, a commendable effort that received praise from all quarters.
Meanwhile, in Allampura village on the outskirts of Chikkamagaluru city, a house belonging to Nagesh Shetty saw one of its walls collapse due to strong winds. Fortunately, the wall fell outward, averting a major disaster. Although there was minimal danger to the occupants inside, a portion of the collapsed wall damaged a car belonging to Jagadish that was parked in front of the house. Upon receiving the news, officials and members from the Gram Panchayat visited the site to assess the situation.
