A landslide in southern Ethiopia’s Geze Gofa district has resulted in over 157 deaths, according to local authorities on Tuesday. The disaster happened on Monday, and rescue efforts are ongoing. Injured survivors are being assisted, and the community is providing shelter and food. Sadly, the death toll has risen as some rescuers, including teachers and health workers, have become victims themselves. The Ethiopian Red Cross and regional experts are helping with the relief efforts. The government urges all Ethiopians to support the ongoing rescue operations and aid the affected area.
