The accused involved in the murder case of temple priest Devendrappa Honnalli has been arrested by the police within 24 hours. Devendrappa, who served as the priest at Vaishnavadevi temple in Hubli, was killed on Sunday.
In a press conference held on Tuesday in the city, Police Commissioner N Shashikumar announced that Santhosh, the murderer, has been apprehended by Navanagar Police. Santhosh allegedly stabbed and killed Devendrappa behind the temple.
According to the police, Santhosh had attempted to kill two years ago but remained inactive thereafter. On Sunday evening, he allegedly murdered Devendrappa and fled the scene. Santhosh confessed to the police that he believed Devendrappa was responsible for several deaths in his family due to black magic practices.
Police Commissioner N Shashikumar stated that Santhosh had been planning the murder for two to three years.
