The movement of buses during the night has been disrupted on routes towards Bengaluru and Mysuru from Mangaluru. According to KSRTC sources, night services via Shiradi to Bengaluru and Sampaje  towards Mysuru were hampered in the last few days.
Buses were forced to stop at Sampaje and Gundya and were only allowed to proceed once they received road clearance. This situation has persisted for the last two days. However, officials said that they received an intimation that the Shiradi Ghat is open for regular vehicle movement.
The precautionary measure was in place to prevent any untoward incidents, an official said.

Buses that halt around 1am or 2am at Gundya used to resume their journey around 4.30am or 5am, once the roads are clear.
The buses are reaching their destinations with a delay of three to four hours. Meanwhile, Karnataka Sarige buses were taking the Charmadi Ghat route, while Dream Class, Ambari Utsav and other high-end buses continued on their regular routes. There are about 50 high-end vehicles on these routes and about 15-20 departures were cut in the last few days.

Most of the Rajahamsa and Volvo bus services were cancelled. Ambari Utsav and Dream Class vehicles do not have alternative routes. Passengers are informed in advance that if the road is clear, buses will operate at night; otherwise, movement will only occur when the roads are clear, an officer said. Due to a landslide at Doddatappalu, Sakleshpur, on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru NH-75, restrictions were imposed on vehicular movement. Restrictions have also been imposed on the Madikeri-Sampaje route.
