Davanagere
Namma Clinic has been established in Davangere to enhance healthcare accessibility for slum dwellers, daily wage laborers, and the weaker sections of urban and rural areas. Local residents have expressed concerns about the quality of treatment and availability of sufficient medicines at these clinics.
Under the Nama Clinic scheme by the BJP government, these clinics aim to serve middle-class individuals as health centers. Currently, four out of the sanctioned seven clinics have commenced operations in Aavaragere, Honnali, Channagiri, and Jagaluru.
Additional locations for clinics in Davanagere are being planned at Yaragunte, Hale Kundawada, and Malebennur to cater to both rural and urban populations. According to RCH officer AM Renukaradhya, the existing clinics in Davanagere, Aavaragere, Honnali, Jagaluru, Channagiri are already operational, with plans for three more clinics at Yaragunte, Hale Kundawada, and Malebennur. The clinics operate from 12 noon to 8 pm and are staffed with one MBBS doctor, one staff nurse, a data entry operator, a pharmacist, and a support staff member (D group employee).
