Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced on Friday that the state will enhance government schools over the next three years. He directed Education Secretary Burra Venkatesham to develop a new policy aimed at improving the education system in these schools.
CM Reddy emphasized the need for innovative plans, including the establishment of both semi-residential and fully residential schools. During a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, education officials, and architects, he discussed a master plan for these integrated residential schools.
The Telangana government has already started a pilot project to build integrated residential schools in Kodangal and Madhira constituencies, where 20 acres have been acquired for this purpose. The plan includes creating residential schools for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and Minorities in each of the state’s 119 Assembly constituencies.
CM Reddy also proposed extending education to the third standard in Anganwadi centers, similar to play schools, and suggested adding one more teacher per Anganwadi. He highlighted the importance of making educational facilities available in students’ local villages and proposed setting up semi-residential schools offering education up to the fourth standard with transport services for students.
Additionally, CM Reddy recommended utilizing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds alongside government allocations to improve school facilities and ensure high-quality education for all students.
