In an incident at the Belagali border, a family faced an arson attack resulting in the death of two members and injuries to three others. The incident occurred at the farmhouse owned by Dastagirasaba Mau Pendari, where miscreants sprayed petrol on the wooden shed using a 1hp motor pump. This action was aimed at destroying the Pendari family.

As a result, Jaibun Dastagirasaba Pendari (55) and Shabana Dastagirasaba Pendari (26), mother and daughter, were burnt alive inside the house. Dastagirasaba Mau Pendari and his son Subhana D Pendari suffered burns, with the latter sustaining severe injuries. Grandson Siddika Shaukat Pendari managed to escape unharmed.

Police investigations revealed that the perpetrators sprayed petrol on the family members as well, setting them on fire. Although Dastagirasaba and his family members smelled petrol and attempted to escape, they could not avoid the attack. The incident has raised suspicions that the miscreants aimed to eliminate the entire Pendari family.

Authorities, including the Dog Squad and Belgaum District FSL team, collected evidence from the crime scene in the morning. North Zone IGP Vikasakumar assured that the suspects responsible for the attack will be arrested and thoroughly investigated soon.

The case has been registered at Mudhola police station, and efforts are ongoing to bring justice to the victims and their family.
